Armchairs and sofas with a reclining
mechanism offer the possibility of changing
the inclination of the back, positioning the
legs horizontally and changing the seating
position.
If you have purchased an armchair or a
sofa with the sliding function (Zero Wall),
you will also have the possibility of reclining
the armchair or sofa without having to
move the upholstered furniture away from
the wall. In fact, the seat and back move
forward during extension, thanks to a special
mechanism.
If you have purchased a swivelling armchair,
in addition to the reclining function you
will have the rocking chair function and
can turn the armchair about its vertical
axis.
Use
The ways of using the reclining functions
vary depending on the models.
Reclining
with dorsal pressure
The armchair can be made to recline by
simply placing the arms on the armrests
(1) and pressing the back against the
backrest (2).
The armchair is returned to the upright
position by moving the trunk forward and
accompanying the footrest to the initial
position by exerting pressure with the legs.

Reclining with handle
The mechanism extension is achieved by
using the handle positioned on the outside
of the armrest. Pulling the handle causes
the footrest to extend. The armchair is made
to recline fully by exerting pressure with
the trunk. The armchair is returned to its
upright position by moving the trunk
forward and accompanying the footrest
back to the initial position by exerting
pressure with the legs. If you have purchased
a sofa with a central reclining seat, the
opening handle is positioned between the
cushions.

Reclining with pressure from the calves
The reclining position is controlled by
accompanying the footrest to the extended
position with a firm thrust exerted by the
calves. After release, the footrest is raised
and the armchair is fully reclined by exerting
pressure with the torso against the backrest.
To return the mechanism to the upright
position it is necessary to move the torso
forward, accompanying the footrest back
to the initial position and finally by exerting
a firm pressure against the footrest using
the heels until the footrest returns fully to
the retracted position. The mechanism is
not active if the user is not sitting down.

Armchair with rotating function
The rotating function, where present, can
always be used. In fact, no device needs to
be operated to make this function available.
It is sufficient to rest the feet on the ground
and exert a sideways pressure to turn. This
function is only available in armchairs.

Armchair with rocking chair function
The rocking chair function can be activated
by moving the lever positioned behind the
armchair to the left, or this function is
activated automatically when the lever is
operated to activate the reclining
mechanism. The rocking chair function is
locked by moving the lever positioned
behind the armchair to the right and at the
same time by moving the backrest slightly
to allow the locking bayonet to be correctly
inserted in position.
Warning
Before using our products with a
mechanism incorporated, check
whether the mechanism is restrained
by a plastic strap. If the strap has
been applied, it must be cut. (Figure below)
Do not use solvents to clean the metal
parts of the mechanism: a damp cloth
is sufficient.
Do not allow children to play with the
mechanism.
The mechanism must only be used
when the person is correctly seated.
Lightly lubricate the springs, the
hinges and all the joints using
normal spray-on lubricants available
on the market, if the mechanism
produces squeaks when in operation.
Do not sit on the front edge of the
armchairs that have the rocking
function, otherwise the armchair
could touch the ground and be
damaged.
